Donations aid Westport Island’s Wright House
Progress on Wright House continues, with donations Westport Island selectmen announced Monday. Westport Community Association is giving $1,000 and Mary and Richard Coventry up to $1,000, toward the windows and ramp, First Selectman George Richardson said.
Also, Joe Ruzyckij is donating at least two glass cases to the history committee for use at Wright House, officials said.
“This is wonderful, because it will give us really professional quality displays that we can use in the history center,” committee chairman Jeff Tarbox said.
The board appointed Anne Cole-Fairfield to a one-year term on the committee and named Gaye Wagner an official deputy registrar.
The town has gotten the awning for Municipal Agent Dedee Greenleaf-Hodgdon’s walk-up window at the town office, Wagner said. Keep Maine Healthy grant funds covered the awning, but will not cover its installation, Wagner said. The board gave her permission to look into the cost.
