Dow Furniture joins fight against winter chill
Dow Furniture, a family-owned and operated business based in Waldoboro since 1955, is pleased to announce its recent donation of $1,055 to the Community Energy Fund, a fund that provides energy assistance to families in need in Lincoln County. A portion of the store's Presidents' Day Sale revenue was set aside for the donation.
Wilmot Dow, who is the general manager and third generation in the family business, stated, "As a family-owned local business, we place a great emphasis on serving our community and supporting organizations that make a positive impact, such as the Community Energy Fund. Our commitment to serving our customers extends to serving our community, and we are proud to partner with local organizations like the Community Energy Fund to help families in need."
The Community Energy Fund of Lincoln County has been providing fuel assistance to families who don't qualify for state or federal heating assistance programs for over 17 years. The organization partners with local towns to identify families in need and covers the cost of fuel deliveries and heating system repairs. In addition, the Fund can also help families experiencing unexpected emergencies that have a significant financial impact.
Since 2005, the Community Energy Fund has assisted 4,434 families and disbursed over $2,104,053 in total funds. Those in need of assistance should not contact the Community Energy Fund directly, but instead, contact their local town office that assists with disbursement.
