Edgecomb municipal ballot set for May 21 election
Two-term Selectman Mike Smith headlines the 2021 Edgecomb municipal election ballot. Voters will head to the polls Friday, May 21 to elect new municipal officers and approve a town and school budget in a referendum election. Smith is the only selectman’s candidate for the three-year term.
Other municipal candidates are Rebecca Graham and Cory Mullins who are seeking separate planning board seats. Graham is running for a second three-year term. Mullins was appointed this year to fill an unexpired term. He is seeking election to a full three-year term. Nichole Price and Arthur Garey are seeking school committee seats. Price was appointed this year to fill Dawn Murray’s unexpired seat. Murray resigned after being elected as a selectman. Price is seeking a three-year term to succeed Tom Abello, who did not seek re-election. The school committee nominated Price until the next election. Garey is seeking to fill Murray’s unexpired one-year term.
Claudia Coffin is seeking re-election as town clerk and treasurer. Both are one-year terms. Scott Griffin is seeking another one-year term as road commissioner. Tax Collector Kim Batchelder is not seeking re-election. He was appointed last year to fill Deb Boucher’s unexpired term. Rebecca Brewer is seeking the tax collector’s one-year term. Coffin reported Brewer, if elected, may appoint Batchelder as the deputy collector.
All candidates are running unopposed.
