A 62-year-old Alna man was killed Thursday, June 6 at the intersection of Route 1 and Old Ferry Road in Wiscasset in a truck-motorcycle collision.

According to a report from Wiscasset Police Chief Larry Hesseltine, George Christopher of Alna was traveling north on Route 1 on his 1999 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle when he was struck by a 2001 Dodge pickup being operated by Dylan Young, 48, of Wiscasset. According to the report, Young was making a left turn onto Old Ferry Road when the two collided. Christopher, who was not wearing a helmet, died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. The accident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m.

The accident is still under investigation and is being reconstructed by the Maine State Police.

Sgt. Perry Hatch of the Wiscasset Police Department was assisted at the accident scene by the Wiscasset Fire & EMS, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office and the Maine State Police.
