Feed Our Scholars paint night Feb. 9
Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars has had such fun with past February paint parties in St. Philip’s Lippiat Hall at 12 Hodge St. in Wiscaset, that the group has decided to hold another, but this time attendees will be shifting from painting on canvas to painting on glass.
On Friday, Feb. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., artist Nicole of Artful Nights Maine will lead the budding artists through the steps of bringing their creations to fruition. Participants will be painting a sweet strawberry decoration on a glass vase that they can take home and use to perk up the winter doldrums. For a charge of $30 for adults, $25 for youth 12 to 17, people will be given all supplies and instruction for their creations.
To put another spin on what has become a yearly Feed Our Scholars pre-Valentine’s event, there will be an ice cream sundae bar for people’s delight. For those who need to avoid dairy, there will be a lactose free offering. Who could resist creating an ooey-gooey delight: sauces, whipped cream, sprinkles and toppings of many varieties…mmmm. Coffee, tea, and water will be available to round out the dessert portion of the occasion.
All proceeds benefit Feed Our Scholars’ school backpack & school supply programs for students attending Wiscasset schools. This year the Set For Success initiative is growing to include all students, Pre-K to Grade 12. Be a part of helping to support successful students while having a fun night out.
To register, please contact St. Philip's Church at 882-7184, leaving a name and number of participants, as well as a phone number for followup, or go to feedourscholars@gmail.com by Feb 6th.
