Firefighters from all over Maine parade through Waldoboro street
WALDOBORO — The Maine Federation of Firefighters held its annual parade in Waldoboro, Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Prior to the parade, 48 entries were on the roster for the parade, which wound its way from the old Sylvania site on Friendship Street to the Miller School. Enough additional entries hopped in at the last minute that organizers couldn’t provide a final number.
Along with being the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that took down the World Trade Center, a wing of the Pentagon, and crashed another airplane, this weekend represented the Maine State Federation of Firefighters 57th Annual Convention. Each year, MSFF holds a convention somewhere in the state. As they’d intended to last year, Waldoboro Fire Department hosted this year’s event.
