First Congregational sets Christmas Eve, Christmas services
Christmas services at First Congregational Church in Wiscasset will begin with a candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. Preceding the service, Dr. Jeff Grosser will provide Christmas music beginning at 6:15 p.m. The Christmas Eve candlelight service will feature special music by the choir, favorite carols, and a message from Rev. Amy Lignitz Harken.
On Christmas Day, Rev. Thomas Junkert, priest in charge of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, will join Rev. Harken at First Congo in worship at 10 a.m. According to Rev. Harken, “This will be a joyful service of sharing our Christmas memories, singing favorite carols and hearing the Christmas story again.”
A service of lessons and carols will take place New Year’s Day at 10 a.m. Communion will be offered, and all are welcome to partake.
