Food pantries get donation from Lincoln Lodge No. 3 of Wiscasset
Lincoln Lodge No. 3 A.F. & A.M., Masonic Lodge in Wiscasset, passed out checks to six area food pantries Thursday, March 28. Members raised $1,500 during the year through their Lincoln Lodge Cement Mixer fundraisers. Their efforts were matched by the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation MAC (Masons Assisting Communities) with another $1,500. The total $3,000 was then divided up among six local charitable organizations: Wiscasset’s St. Philip’s Episcopal Church’s Help Yourself Shelf and Feed Our Scholars program; Westport Food Pantry; Edgecomb Community Church’s Little Corner Food Pantry; Alna Food Bank; and Church of the Nazarene’s Food Bank in Wiscasset.
Representatives from four of the organizations were present for the corned beef and cabbage dinner served following the presentation of the monetary donations.
All in attendance were grateful for the Lodge’s generosity and commitment to the surrounding communities in their efforts to aid those with food insecurity.
