Four things
It’s hard to believe that one quarter of the year has passed. A lot has gone on since Jan. 1, 2024: storms, storms and more storms; winter sports at area schools ended; and the storm of the year so far – the school referendum in Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor – doesn’t look like there’s an end to the divide between the yes and no voters. We’ll see, and report on, how it all turns out.

Congratulations to the Boothbay Region High School and Wiscasset Elementary School drama students for holding spring productions. We heard that BRHS’s “Mean Girls JR” held this past weekend was well received and upcoming is WES’ “Willy Wonka JR” on May 3 and 4. See the newspaper calendar for times.

Exciting times for Boston sports. As of Tuesday, both the Celtics and Bruins were on the cusp of closing out their opening post-season series. And the Red Sox pitching is certainly a surprise (but we know it’s a long season and we have been disappointed many times in the past).
