Frog, Toad and valentines at Story Time
One of Frog and Toad adventures that was read during story time showed how Frog and Toad have no willpower when it comes to home made cookies. They try keeping the cookies in a box tied with a string and hiding them on the top shelf to stop from eating all the cookies. In the end, the sure way to keep from eating them all is to share them with the birds.
Another story read this week was “Valentine’s Day” by Anne Rockwell. Classmates decide to make valentines for their friend who is visiting her grandparents in Japan. In return, the class received a large stamp covered envelope filled with origami valentines for the whole class. Here at the Wiscasset Public Library Children’s Room, the children took turns reaching into a decorated valentine box and pulled out their own origami valentines! There were birds, fish, hats, hearts and boxes to be found.
Story Time takes place each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome.
