Gardiner Road school zone gets lights
Wiscasset Police Department reported on its Facebook page last week, lights have gone up in the school zone of Wiscasset Middle High School on Gardiner Road.
“Huge shout out to (Wiscasset schools’) Director of Transportation and Maintenance John Merry for making this happen!
“The parts and pieces were ordered back in October and just arrived last week, days after the story aired on Channel 13 about safety concerns in the school zone on Gardiner Road. The school originally obtained a grant for these lights through Maine (Department of Transportation) but after several delays in that grant project the school decided to purchase these lights and use the grant project for the Federal Street school zone,” hopefully by the start of the next school year, the announcement stated.
