The Garden Club of Wiscasset will hold its plant sale on Saturday, May 13 at the Wiscasset Municipal Building at the corner of Routes 1 and 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It is a rain or shine, outdoor-only sale.

 

The plant sale is the club’s major fundraiser, supporting both scholarships and beautification projects. The club provides scholarships to high school seniors from surrounding communities and who are pursuing a higher education in horticulture or related studies.

 

Club members maintain or help maintain Coastal Cancer Treatment Center’s Serenity Garden in Bath, Pownalborough Courthouse Garden in Dresden and, in Wiscasset, the Nickels- Sortwell House Gardens, the town’s Sunken Garden, Wiscasset Public Library gardens and the Petunia triangles.

 

The sale will include cement leaf birdbaths, garden gloves, gently used gardening books, a children’s table and a bake sale. Cash, checks, or credit cards will be accepted.
