Gerald R. Melillo
Gerald Raymond Melillo, 81, of St. Petersburg, Florida and Boothbay Harbor, Maine died August 5, 2016 at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born June 12, 1935 in New Haven, Connecticut to George and Agnes Mary Angelo Melillo. He graduated from Quinnipiac College with a bachelor's degree.
He served in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves until 1961. He was an accountant,musician, and insurance salesman. He enjoyed playing the keyboard piano for hours on end. He was a member of the Musicians Union in St. Petersburg. He once appeared on the "Ted Mack Amateur Hour."
He was well known as the “taxman” in Connecticut and Florida.
He was predeceased by parents; brother, Frank Melillo; granddaughter, Jenny Martens; and by a sisters-in-law, Catherine Melillo and Grace Melillo
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann Larson Melillo of St. Peterburg and Boothbay Harbor; daughters and spouses, Susan Pauline Bell and Michael Bell of St. Petersburg, Victoria Elizabeth Harper and John Harper of St. Petersburg, Joan Sullivan of St. Petersburg; sons and spouses, Gerry Raymond Melillo Jr. and Debbie Melillo of Newport, Rhode Island, David Paul Melillo and Denise Melillo of Seminole, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-Law, George Melillo, Carol Melillo, Sandra Melillo and Robert Melillo; 13 grandchildren; four great;grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation, Monday, Aug. 8 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road,Boothbay. The Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Atlantic Avenue, Boothbay Harbor.
