Halcyon Strings presents ‘Tipping Points’ at The Waldo
The Waldo Theatre is excited to welcome the Halcyon String Quartet on Saturday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. for a performance of their latest multi-media show, Tipping Points. The show features music by Rafiq Bhatia, Caroline Shaw, Hildegard von Bingen, Max Richter, and Bartok alongside film by Rockland-based videographer and musician, Luke Fatora.
Through live music and synchronous film, Tipping Points explores the environmental, social, and economic drivers of climate change and invites audiences to reflect on the ways that messaging around sustainability, growth, and the future shape our everyday behavior. The program will conclude with a discussion encouraging audiences to engage in climate action and to dream creatively about our collective future.
Halcyon is an artist collective based in Midcoast Maine that combines live music, science, and film to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities we face in a climate changed world. For more information about Halcyon's mission and upcoming programming, visit halcyonstringquartet.org.
