Hannaford program to aid Wiscasset pantry
St;. Philip’s Help Yourself Shelf (HYS), 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset has been chosen as September beneficiary for the new Hannaford Snack Pal Plates Program at the Hannaford on Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor. HYS has been picked to receive a 25-cent donation from the purchase of every Snack Pal Plate during the remainder of September.
Snack Pal Plates can be found in special displays in the produce section. The Snack Pal Plates make building lifelong healthy eating habits fun while benefiting the community.
“We’re delighted that the new program to help generate funds for our Help Yourself Shelf at St. Philip’s in Wiscasset highlights healthy eating,” stated Gretchen Burleigh-Johnson, HYS co-coordinator.
HYS came into being over 40 years ago as a bookshelf at the back of the sanctuary; has grown as the need has become known; and is a Good Shepherd Food Bank partner. Monies generated through the Snack Pal Plates and the bags program go directly to aid in provisioning the Pantry. Learn more about HYS at https://helpyourselfshelf.wordpress.com/
