‘Healthy Kids’ go exploring in the Midcoast
Healthy Kids summer field trips have begun. The combined Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta Playgroups, along with some summer visitors, have already visited the Penny Lake Preserve in Boothbay Harbor, catching pollywogs and learning about what lives in a tiny pond. Each field trip, Healthy Kids provides a healthy snack and that day they were all treated to a fresh Macintosh apple.
On June 11, the playgroups visited Stone Edge Farms and were rewarded by being able to pet a mini filly only three days old.
The next field trip is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. You must be a Lincoln County resident to enter for free or pay $10 to the Gardens. There will be a healthy snack and water for all.
