Help eradicate polio
World Polio Day, Oct. 24, kicks off a week of special efforts to draw attention to the progress made and the work still needed to eradicate polio worldwide. Rotarians around the world have contributed over $2.4 billion dollars and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries. And it’s working. Rotary and its partners have reduced polio cases worldwide by 99.9% since 1988. We are on the verge of eradicating this terrible disease.
The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club is known for its contributions to numerous local causes including the bikes for summer workers program, support for veterans, and teacher appreciation. With the funds we raise from our Saturday morning barn sales, we support scholarships for post-secondary education, the Boothbay Region Land Trust, the Student Aid Fund, Education Boothbay, the Community Resource Council, the Food Pantry, Camp Knickerbocker and the YMCA, Set for Success, the BRHS Interact club and neighbors who are in need.
This time we need your help. Please join us in contributing to eradicate polio by visiting www.endpolio.org/donate or mailing a check to End Polio Now, P.O. Box 518, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538. By placing service above self, we can make a difference together. Thank you.
