June 24 update: Maine surpasses 3,000 COVID-19 cases
AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, June 24, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.
Today, there are 3,017 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,680 confirmed cases and 337 probable cases.
Across the state, 2,490 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 103 people have died.
The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 339.
Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 24 hospitalized, including 12 in critical care and six on a ventilator. (NOTE: This data is of June 23.)
Statewide, there are 140 available critical care beds out of 387 total, 254 available ventilators of 318 total, and 438 alternative ventilators. (NOTE: This data is of June 23.)

Knox County continues to report 24 cases, 21 recoveries, three hospitalizations and one death. This data remains unchanged from yesterday’s update.
Waldo County, again, reports 55 cases, 41 recoveries, five hospitalizations and 14 deaths. This data remains unchanged from yesterday’s update.
Lincoln County, once again, reports 21 cases, 18 recoveries, two hospitalizations and no deaths. This data remains unchanged from yesterday’s update.
The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have been tested for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. “Data are about individuals who claim residency in Maine regardless of what state they were tested in, or where they are currently living,” the Maine CDC says. “For example, an individual who claims residency in Maine but lives in Florida will appear in this data even if they were living in Florida at the time of illness. County listings are by residence of patient, not location of the hospital or testing location.”
Each morning, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state.
