Legion honors Korean War era veterans

American Legion Post 36 in Boothbay Harbor held a dinner Monday, Feb. 10, honoring the region's Korean War era veterans with Post Commander Bob Raudenbush presiding. Fourteen members with service during that period attended, along with 36 other veterans, family members and friends.
Department of Maine Commander John Hargreaves, along with Marine Corps League State Commandant Gary Laweryson presented books commemorating the Korean War to each of the veterans. After dinner, each of the honorees spoke briefly of their time in the service. A slide show honoring all the Boothbay region veterans was presented, concluding a most enjoyable evening.
