‘Lift Off’ debuts at Lincoln Theater
A delightful show, “Lift Off,” debuted at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta May 31 and June 1, as the Boothbay Region Y-Arts Youth presented three performances of Joel Biron’s newest musical.
Directed by Y-Arts Director Emily Mirabile, the 36-member cast hardly missed a beat (or line) during the Friday night show and the two Saturday performances. There were 12 songs and the main characters Skylar (Paige Botts), Leonardo Da Vinci (Spencer Pottle), Wilbur Wright (Anderson Pierpan), Orville Wright (Finn Roy) and Amelia Earhart (Jojo Shea) did a great job of easing Rocky’s (Finn Sullivan) fear of flying by urging him to use his imagination and taking him through time on the history of flight.
This was Biron’s third musical to premiere with the Y-Arts program at Lincoln Theater, with “Scary School” and “I Love Maine!” done previously.
