Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Weather-related accidents
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 237 calls for service for the period of Jan. 23 and Jan. 30. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 873 calls for service.
Summonses
William J. Clifford, 18, of Edgecomb was issued a summons Jan. 24 for Driving to Endanger, on Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Adam R. Libby, 45, of Waldoboro was issued a summons Jan. 27 for Theft by Deception, on Medomak Road, Bremen, by Deputy Jeffrey Rogers.
Arrest
Travis Montreal Williams, Jr., 26, of Pomona Park, Florida was arrested Jan. 23 on four warrants; one Affidavit warrant out of Lincoln County; two Cumberland County warrants and one. Sagadahoc County warrants for Failure to Appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.
Accidents
On Jan. 23, an accident occurred on Grand Army Road in Whitefield involving Andrew Shaw, 19, of Whitefield. Mr. Shaw was operating his 2013 Ford Edge eastbound when a deer entered the roadway from the right side and was struck. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 24, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving Shane A. Miller, 31, of Jefferson and Eric W. Richmond, 18, of Jefferson. Mr. Richmond backed his 1994 Volvo 850 into Mr. Miller’s 2023 Subaru Impreza, which was parked legally. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 24, an accident occurred on Beath Road in Boothbay involving Timothy E. Rose, 30, of Norfolk, Massachusetts. Mr. Rose was operating his 2011 Volvo XC90 southbound and the roads were icy due to the weather conditions. Mr. Rose decided to turn around in the roadway to head back home and while backing up his vehicle, it slid down the embankment and struck a tree. Deputy Kasey Doyle was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving David A. Svens, 77, of Chamberlain. Mr. Svens was operating his 2010 Honda Civic northbound when a deer came out in front of him from the right side and was struck, causing front passenger side damage. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor involving Ralph C. Wilts, 72, of Boothbay. Mr. Wilts was operating his 2019 Ford Expedition southbound in the Small Mall parking lot and when he turned left in the lot, he struck the concrete base of a light pole. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving John Warner, 24, of Dresden. Mr. Warner was operating his 2022 Toyota Tacoma westbound, approaching the Richmond bridge. The roads were slush covered and it was snowing and as a result, he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline and went off the roadway on the left side. Warner then struck a guardrail at the intersection of Patterson Road/Lincoln Road. Warner’s tires appeared to have inadequate tread depth for winter driving. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Halie M. Wise, 28, of Jefferson. Ms. Wise was operating her 2010 Subaru Forester northbound when she stated she hit slush and her vehicle began sliding sideways. When she tried to correct it, her vehicle went off the roadway to the right, striking a tree and causing driver’s side damage. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
