Lobster & More: A real Maine fundraising event at Lincoln Home
On August 13 at 4 p.m., The Lincoln Home in Newcastle is hosting a special fundraiser to support the Resident Financial Aid Fund. We invite the public to join us on the banks of the Damariscotta River, dine on delicious Maine lobsters, mouth-watering barbecue chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs. Top your meal off with Maine blueberry dessert offerings. Sample beers from the new Oxbow Brewery beer tent, join in a lively Contra Dance and take home a beautiful piece of art displayed on the porch. Tickets must be bought in advance and are available at The Lincoln Home, located at 22 River Road, or by calling 563-3350. Tickets are $45 per person, under age 10 are free.
An evening of traditional Maine fun and delicious food will help support the Financial Assistance Fund at The Lincoln Home for residents who have outlived their financial resources. As people are living longer, and health care costs continue to increase, it is critical to continue to grow this Financial Aid Fund to meet the increasing requests from those in need. For the last 10 years, The Lincoln Home has provided over $200,000 a year of free housing and health care to residents in need and does not receive any state or federal monies.
Last week, Kevin Busch, of Maine Energy Performance Solutions in Washington, Maine, was the first to deliver a check to support The Lobster & More event. Other businesses are invited to partner with us and sponsor the event by contacting Lynn Norgang, executive director, at 563-3350.
