Michael Reed Dolloff, 63, of South Portland, died Oct. 22, 2017.

He was born May 9, 1954 in Boothbay Harbor to Preston B. and Ann Elizabeth (Ingraham) Dolloff.

Michael graduated from Boothbay Region High School. He worked as a control room engineer at Central Maine Power and Regional Waste Systems.

Michael was always regaling someone with a funny story or joke. He was gregarious, free-spirited, and independent. He was well read and had a carefree outlook on life.

Michael enjoyed coin collecting, live music, playing cards, golfing, traveling, watching the Patriots, but most of all, spending time with his friends and three grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and life-long friend, Tom Milligan of Boothbay Harbor.

He is survived by: his favorite (and only) daughter, Sarah Dolloff and her husband, Anthony Jones and their three children, Jackson Elwell, Lola Jones, and Charlie Jones, all of Scarborough; sons, Henry Dolloff of Portland and Christian Dolloff of Portland; sisters, Martha Landry of Boothbay Harbor and Ann Dolloff of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania; ex-wife, Ellen S. Dolloff of Portland, with whom he shared over 25 years of marriage; and Ms. Jennifer Lovell of Portland, his companion and decade long love.

A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2018 at his childhood home in Boothbay Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, Michael requested that we toast the man he was, the laughter he brought, and his good intentions. Cheers.
