Midcoast Conservancy to hold open house in new office
Midcoast Conservancy will hold an Open House on Thursday, Jan. 25 from 4:30-7 p.m. to celebrate its move to 290 Route 1 in Edgecomb. After an exhaustive search that involved evaluating almost 40 different properties in the Midcoast region, Midcoast Conservancy purchased its new home in Edgecomb after two years of leasing a building inWiscasset.
Thanks in part to a new and innovative partnership with First National Bank, Midcoast Conservancy was able to buy the lovely timber frame building after First National Bank made a generous offer in exchange for sponsorship opportunities from Midocast Conservancy over the next five years. Tony McKim, President and Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank commented, “First National is pleased to facilitate the sale of this building to Midcoast Conservancy so they can further their mission of creating resilient natural communities. We look forward to working with them now and in the future.”
The 3,200-square foot finished office space is situated on just under six acres, has a handicapped accessible first floor, a break room and a daylight basement for the organization’s ever-expanding outdoor gear collection. In addition, radient floor heating and heat pumps align with the organization’s commitment to energy efficiency. The Midcoast Conservancy staff is eager to show people around the new space, and greet friends old and new over a drink and appetizers.
