Mooney nominated to Westport Island planning board
Westport Island selectmen nominated Robert Mooney Monday night to serve a three-year term on the planning board.
Resident E. Davies Allan asked if the board had been in communication with the planning board about a second candidate. Selectmen’s Chairman George Richardson Jr. said the other candidate was discussed with Planning Board Chairman Richard Lorenson.
Allan also urged selectmen to more fully communicate with residents on town matters. He said he had not heard back from the board on potholes. “I didn’t get an answer. We still have the potholes,” said Allan. Richardson then told Allan the cold patch was available and the potholes would be filled in short order.
Town Clerk Julie Casson asked the board to consider revising the forms for renting the town hall for public and private functions. “We have to know who is responsible,” said Casson. She also asked that town officers and employees complete the Freedom of Information certification yearly. And she said Burgess Technology Services will set up selectmen with secure email addresses July 23 at a yearly cost of $72 per selectman.
