Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Sharing Stories, Preparing for Winter Storms
The Lincoln County Social Resilience Project invites community members from across Lincoln County to join a free community dinner and storm preparedness discussion on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Medomak Valley High School Cafeteria, 320 Manktown Road, Waldoboro.
The event, titled “Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Sharing Stories, Preparing for Winter Storms,” will bring residents together to share their experiences with past storms and discuss how to better prepare for future weather emergencies. Participants will gather in small groups to enjoy a meal and discuss how storms have affected them. The ideas and input shared will help guide local leaders in developing plans for emergency preparedness and response.
In addition to dinner, attendees can explore a mini resource fair with tables hosted by local service organizations, offering valuable resources and information to help the community prepare for and respond to emergencies. Attendees will also have the chance to win door prizes, including Hannaford and Visa gift cards.
All Lincoln County community members are welcome -- including children – with youth especially encouraged to attend and participate in the conversation. Meal options will be available for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.
RSVPs are requested to assist with meal planning, but walk-ins are also welcome. To RSVP, visit https://forms.gle/hCPF2bvVwYghXTox8, scan the QR code on the attached flyer, or contact Gabe at (207) 952-1817 or gabe@rcmaine.org for more information.
