Nine members join Garden Club of Wiscasset
The Garden Club of Wiscasset welcomed nine new members at the ice cream social at Squam Creek Farm on Westport Island Aug. 9. Potential members were given information on the club, a tour of the garden, a chance to meet members and enjoy delicious sundaes in a lovely setting.
The first meeting of the year will be Sept. 5 in Fellowship Hall at First Congregational Church, 28 High St., Wiscasset. Flower design practice is at 11 a.m. with the interpreted design theme, “A Walk in the Woods.” There is a business meeting at 12:30 p.m. Our featured program at 1 p.m. on “Seedsaving” will be given by Jean Vose, Master Gardener volunteer educator.
Refreshments follow and the public is invited free of charge.
The club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., the New England Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc. and The Garden Club Federation of Maine, Inc.
