The Lincoln Home
Optimize your brain health
The Lincoln Home is strongly motivated to teach others how to improve the lives of people with dementia.
Admissions Director, Steve Raymond, will give a talk Monday, May 6, from 3 - 4 p.m., on Mild Cognitive Impairment and the many steps we can take to support and promote Optimal Brain Health. Discussions about cognitive decline can seem all doom and gloom.
Handouts will be distributed enabling attendees to do further research to find out what is best for them. Raymond is producer and host of the popular LCTV show "Spotlight on Seniors,” and has recently produced a show on de-stigmatizing Dementia.
Raymond says, "As a senior professional who is also aging, I have become intensely interested in maintaining my personal brain health. There is abundant scientific evidence that gives good reason for optimism."
Free workshops reminder
The Lincoln Home is also hosting two free workshops for the business community focusing on compassionate customer service for people with Dementia. Choose either Wednesday May 8, or May 15, from 1:30 - 3:30, to learn communication skills that will make your business a dementia-friendly establishment. Empower employees to understand how to help customers with dementia by making them feel safe, secure and treated with dignity in our local banks, shops, stores, restaurants and places of business.
