Philip J. Knapp
Philip Knapp, 81, passed away on March 11, 2023 at Maine Medical Center after a very brief illness.
Phil was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 3, 1941. He was the son of Barbara and Stuart Knapp. He graduated from Friends School in Wilmington, Delaware and then graduated from Perkiomen School in Pennsylvania.
He was in the Army for two years serving in Korea as a medic. After being discharged, he was a member of a rodeo, riding Brahma bulls and then trained horses for various race tracks around the country for a few years. He then became employed by the International Longshormen’s Association of Southeast Florida Ports where he retired and moved to Southport, Maine.
Philip’s parents, wife Lois and brother-in-law Ormand Wade predeceased him.
He is survived by his sister, Miriam Wade; brothers Stuart (Jan) and David; two stepdaughters and their families and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and dear friend Lois Hoffman.
There will be a graveside service in early summer.
