Persistent Pretzel proved to be a distinguished dachshund after rescuing his true love, Greta.
Margret Rey’s “Pretzel” was the story read at this week’s story time.
After winning the blue ribbon for being the longest dachshund in the world, Pretzel thought for sure Greta would say yes to his marriage proposal. Although Greta told Pretzel no because she “didn’t care for long dogs,” she finally said yes when he saved her life and rescued her from the deep construction hole she accidentally fell into.
After the story, the children at the library practiced rescuing a ball from down below the table with their own home made “slinky Pretzel dogs.”
Story Time takes place each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome.
