The Merry Barn has added two special guests to its Creative Fusion summer adventure, formerly Playing with Palettes. Aug. 5-9 will be a week of boundless creativity facilitated by Jessie Boardman and Stephanie McSherry. As we play across art forms, we will paint to story, sketch to music, write songs, and create art in old books with the help of two multi-talented creators. 

Award-winning songwriter Jud Caswell will join us for an afternoon songwriting workshop where we’ll play with lyrics and music. Absolutely no experience necessary. Winner of two 2024 Lupine Awards, author and illustrator Jamie Hogan, will guide us in a mixed media activity using the pages of old books to paint, collage, sketch, and bring new worlds to life.

We’ll also spend lots of time outside, reading in our on-site library, and acting with scripts in hand for Readers’ Theater. We celebrate our works-in-progress with friends and family at an Authors’ Tea on Friday afternoon.
