Reny – A champion for affordable healthcare
Dear Editor:
As self-employed residents of Maine, my husband and I face the burden of purchasing our health insurance out of pocket. We find ourselves in a challenging position: earning too much to qualify for assistance but not enough to afford a decent, comprehensive healthcare plan through CoverME.gov. We are stuck in the middle, and we need someone who truly understands these struggles.
We pay $1,700 monthly with a $15,000 deductible for a plan that offers limited benefits, few options, and a restricted provider network.
That’s why I support Cameron Reny for Senate District 13. Cameron recognizes that corporate greed and price gouging are driving the unfair costs of healthcare and medicine. She has personally witnessed these challenges and is committed to making healthcare more accessible and affordable for all Mainers.
Under Cameron’s leadership, we can trust that she won’t forget the middle class. She knows that access to healthcare is a human right and that no one should have to choose between paying for life-saving medications or putting food on the table. Last session, Cameron introduced LD 1829, aimed at reducing prescription drug costs. This bill, which she successfully got passed, is a crucial step toward giving Maine’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board the power to cap the prices of medicines and ensure they are affordable.
Cameron will continue to put consumers and communities first. Her dedication to this cause is clear, and her track record proves she will fight for fair and accessible healthcare for all Mainers.
Let’s vote for Cameron Reny to ensure we have a leader who understands the importance of affordable healthcare and who will champion policies that benefit all of us.
