Route 1 paving work next week in Bath, Brunswick
Next week, Maine Department of Transportation will be doing paving work on Route 1 in Brunswick and Bath. This is part of an ongoing project that begins at the Cook's Corner interchange and extends east more than five miles to the Bath Viaduct. This project also involves the Sagadahoc Bridge, which carries Route 1 over the Kennebec River between Bath and Woolwich.
Next week’s work will involve overnight ramp closures (from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.). These closures help with safety and allow the work to be done more quickly. Detour routes will be marked. Like all our work, the timeline is weather-dependent. Right now, we plan to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The contractor is Northeast Paving.
