Sarah Baldwin’s Y story
Thanks to my parents, I was an infant when I first became a member of the Boothbay Region Y. In fourth grade I joined the Y Dolphin swim team and continued through my senior year at Boothbay Region High School. Upon graduation, I became one of the coaches for the team and worked on my lifeguard certification in the Y pool.
The Y’s Camp Knickerbocker is a special place for me. In eighth grade, I was a counselor-in-training at Camp K and graduated on to a waterfront lifeguard. Working on the waterfront I met not only my co-worker Jonathan, but also my future husband. For us, Camp K is where it all began.
Today I am proud to be a member of the Y Board of Trustees. My family spends time everyday at the Y. We work out in the fitness center, take group exercise classes, personal training, and our 6-year-old son enjoys Fit Kidz and youth sports.
My Y has been here for me and I am here for my Y.
YMCA notes: Giving is easy! Donate to the Annual Fund online (www.boothbayregionymca.org) to give a one-time or a monthly gift. Even a small gift can make a real impact. Through the Annual Fund Drive, we help others and keep our rates the lowest in the state for YMCAs.
