Secrets of successful independent publishing
Written a book or are in the process of writing one? Then Secrets of Successful Independent Publishing being offered through Central Lincoln County Adult Education offers options for publication which authors and aspiring authors may not have thought about before.
Independent writers now have a whole new way of producing and marketing their books. Recent innovations in the rapidly changing technology in printing have created a boom in self-publishing. Good books that do not meet traditional publisher’s criteria can now be affordably printed and marketed by self publishing authors.
This workshop will outline some of the publishing options both traditional and nontraditional, including what is offered locally. Students will find out how to get the technical assistance they need, and about the many types of organizations that work with Maine authors.
Instructor, Jane Karker is owner and president of Maine Authors Publishing and Cooperative and Custom Museum Publishing Inc., with over 15 years of experience in the printing industry.
The workshop will be held at Skidompha Public Library, on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $24 for those who register online by Oct. 27 using the promo code EARLYBIRD on the payment screen and $29 for all other registrations.
