Shah announces COVID-19 three-case outbreak at Washburn & Doughty
Maine Center for Disease Control Director Dr. Nirav Shah announced Dec. 7 the CDC has launched an investigation into East Boothbay shipyard Washburn & Doughty for a COVID-19 outbreak.
The Boothbay Register spoke with Maine CDC Communications Director Robert Long who confirmed the outbreak involves three cases and the investigation is ongoing. The Maine CDC defines an outbreak as three or more confirmed cases from different households within 14 days.
Washburn & Doughty President Katie Doughty Maddox did not respond to several requests for comment.
