Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On March 9 Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was dispatched to a report of a theft at Foster’s Antiques in Newcastle. The complainant stated that during the night 13 antique stone wheels (valued at approximately $4,200) were stolen from the front of his parking lot. This case is still under investigation.
On March 10, Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was dispatched to a report of a theft at Newcastle Chrysler in Newcastle. The complainant stated that various scrap metal parts and a 500-pound engine block (which was sitting next to the scrap dumpster) were taken. Approximately value of items stolen is approximately $500. Further investigation to follow.

On March 6, Michael A. Paquette, 44, of Boothbay was issued a summons for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, on Corey Lane, Boothbay, by Sgt. Jason Nein.

On March 6, Leo W. Barter, Jr., 41, of Boothbay was arrested for Domestic Violence Reckless Conduct, on Country Club Road, Boothbay, by Det. Robert McFetridge, on behalf of Deputy Kenneth Hatch.
On March 10, Daniel S. Seigars, 30, of Alna was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Cross Road, Alna, by Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward.
