Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On August 11, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief in the Newcastle area. The complainant stated that he woke up to a window breaking in his residence. He stated he did not hear or see anyone around his residence and Deputy Dennison could not locate anything that might have been thrown at the window and did not located any other homes or businesses damaged. It is unknown who/what might have caused the damage.

On August 10, Robert D. Johnson, 47, of Boothbay Harbor was issued a summons for Criminal Threatening, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Mark Bridgham.

Recent arrests

On August 7, Roland G. Miller, 47, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for Violating Condition of Release and Criminal Threatening, on Route 96, in Boothbay Harbor, by Sgt. Jason Nein, who was assisted by Boothbay Harbor Officer Jared Mitkus.

On August 8, Timothy J. Plummer, 19, of Westford, Mass. was arrested for Furnishing a Place for Minors to Consume/Possess Liquor, on Wohseepee Way, Boothbay, by Deputy Todd Chilton.

On August 9, Dylan R. Schaffer, 32, of Pittston was arrested on a felony warrant out of Florida for three offenses; Dealing in Stolen Property, False Information on a Pawnbroker Form and Grand Theft in the third degree, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Amber Jeskey.

On August 11, Alan L. Beaucage, 35, of Alna was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court, on Alna Road, Alna, by Deputy Amber Jeskey.

Recent accidents

On August 8, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Eugene F. Carter, 58, of Bristol and Gail E. Parsons, 59, of Wiscasset. Ms. Parsons’ 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was stopped in heavy traffic, southbound on Route 1. Mr. Carter was operating his 1995 Cadillac Deville behind Parson’s vehicle, when he stated his foot slipped off the brake pedal onto the gas pedal causing his vehicle to proceed forward. As a result, Carter struck the rear of Parsons’ vehicle. Sgt. Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.

On August 9, an accident occurred on Common Road (at the Center Café parking lot) in Boothbay involving Gene Bishop, 82, of Dallas, Texas and Abby A. Dunlap, 53, of Bath. Mr. Bishop was backing up his 2012 Infinity FX to pull into a parking place. Ms. Dunlap was starting to back up her 2007 BMW from another parking spot and Mr. Bishop struck Dunlap’s vehicle. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On August 13, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Barbara Harvey, 64, of Waldoboro and Wayne D. Prouty, 44, of Alna. Ms. Harvey was entering Route 27 from the Middle Road in her 1992 Mercury Sable and Mr. Prouty was following Harvey’s vehicle in his 2004 Chevrolet G3500. Ms. Harvey started onto Route 27 and stopped for an oncoming vehicle and Mr. Prouty struck the rear of her vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
