Sheriff's report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 21, Deputy Mark Bridgham took a report of the theft of a Polish Mauser rifle (value $1,200) from a residence in the Boothbay area.
On June 22, Deputy Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a theft of a hot tank (value $100), described as approximately 30 inches high and approximately 24 inches in diameter, with a blue corrugated type hose about 36 inches in length. The tank holds about 35-40 gallons of water and was taken from a boat business in the Newcastle area.
Arrests
On June 19, Donald Smith, 21, of Topsham, was arrested for operating under the influence, one prior, on Gardiner Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On June 22, Zeth A. Williams-Benner, 20, of Pemaquid, was arrested for driving to endanger on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Justin Drake. He was also issued summonses for improper passing and imprudent speed.
On June 23, Jeffery L. McKechnie, Jr., 32, of Augusta, was arrested for unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs on West Alna Road, Alna, by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
On June 23, Michael Louallen, 24, of Monhegan Island, was arrested for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Amber Jeskey and Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On June 23, Cheryl L. Swenson, 51, of Boothbay, was arrested for operating under influence on County Club Road, Boothbay, by Reserve Deputy Jennifer Sherman.
Traffic citations
Joshua Cook, 21, of East Boothbay, failure to display an inspection sticker, Route 96, East Boothbay; Sgt. Jason Nein.

Accidents
On June 21, an accident occurred on Hardwick Road in Boothbay involving Timothy M. Rice, 49, of East Boothbay, and Moira M. Walden, 57, of Boothbay. Rice was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Hardwick Road and Route 27 in his 2009 Ford F150 truck. Rice proceeded to take a left onto Route 27 and he stated he didn’t see Walden’s 2011 Hyundai Accent, which was taking a left onto Hardwick Road. Rice proceeded into the intersection and hit Walden’s vehicle in the rear quarter panel. Deputy Amber Jeskey was the investigating officer.
On June 21, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Zachary T. Brewer, 19, of Boothbay. Brewer was operating his 2002 Chevrolet Impala northbound when he advised he believed he fell asleep. As a result, his vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway on the left side and went down into a ditch. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On June 23, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Heather M. Rego, 22, of Boothbay, and James A. Flanagan, 29, of Farmingdale. Flanagan was operating his 2012 Ford northbound on Boothbay Road, slowing in traffic for a turning vehicle. Rego was traveling behind Flanagan in her 2005 Chrysler Sebring. Rego became distracted with a beverage and as a result, she did not see Flanagan slowing and struck his vehicle in the rear. Reserve Deputy Jennifer Sherman was the investigating officer.
On June 23, an accident occurred on Country Club Road in Boothbay involving Cheryl L. Swenson, 51, of Boothbay. Swenson was operating her 2002 Chevrolet Blazer westbound and her vehicle went off the road, onto the shoulder and struck a tree before coming to rest. Sgt. Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
