Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

On December 10, Deputy Scott Hayden took a report of the theft of between two and three cords of woods from a wood lot in the Alna area. The complainant stated that sometime between November 25 and this date, someone(s) stole the 8-foot logs that were on his lot. Value is $500. Further investigation if leads develop.

On December 4, Travis J. Morton, 35, of Newcastle was issued a summons for Operating an Unregistered ATV and for Operating an ATV on a Public Way, on School Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.

Recent arrest

On December 8, Theodore P. Frydrych, 65, of Boothbay was arrested for Operating Under the Influence – 1 prior, on Beath Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden, who was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Brendan Kane.

Recent traffic citations

On November 14, Scott Rittal, 50, of Boothbay for displaying an expired inspection sticker – Barters Island Road, Boothbay – Sgt. Jason Nein.

On November 16, Earl Libby, 24, of Newcastle – failure to show proof of insurance – Main St., Nobleboro – Dep. Scott Hayden.

On November 25, Ashley DiGiulian, 19, of Boothbay Harbor – operating an unregistered vehicle; failure to show proof of insurance – Route 1, Edgecomb – Dep. Scott Hayden.

Recent Traffic Accident

On December 8, an accident occurred on Beath Road in Boothbay involving Theodore Frydrych, 65, of Boothbay. Frydrych was operating his 2004 Cadillac CTS eastbound on Country Club Road and attempted to turn right on Beath Road; however, he failed to negotiate the turn, crossed the center line and left the roadway on the left side. His vehicle then went down over an embankment and struck several trees. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
