Sips & Sweets event to delight palates and support Midcoast Humane's medical fund
Midcoast Humane announces its new fundraiser, Sips & Sweets, on Saturday, Sept. 23rd at the new Smith Center at Wolfe’s Neck in Freeport with ticketed entry at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sips & Sweets promises to be an unforgettable evening of decadent treats, specialty wines, and heartwarming camaraderie, all in support of Midcoast Humane's Medical Fund. This vital fund provides essential medical care to animals in need, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and a chance at a brighter future.
The wine tasting will be curated by Vessel and Vine, a boutique specialty food and beverage market located in the heart of Brunswick. The menu will feature wines from six regions located all over the world, in addition to a welcome cocktail.
Along with the carefully curated wine list, guests will savor a wide array of mouthwatering sweets, desserts, and savory delights prepared by local culinary artisans including Wild Oats, Mae’s Café & Bakery, Kristie’s Creations, Thayer Treats, Solo Pane and Wildflours Gluten-Free Bakery.
Guests can purchase raffle tickets for an exciting array of items and experiences generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Select raffle items include an overnight stay at an upscale property, a Porch Dinner at Vessel and Vine, a Mat and Barre package from Move ME, and a Kayak Trip for two people from Casco Bay Kayak. Guests will have the rare opportunity to bid on four rounds of golf at the exclusive Boothbay Harbor Country Club.
Jess Townsend, executive director of Midcoast Humane, says about the event, “We invite you to join us on Sept. 23 for an enchanted evening of delicious wines, culinary delights, wonderful company, and boundless compassion. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals in our community.”
Additionally, attendees will meet some of the adorable animals that have benefited from Midcoast Humane’s Medical Fund, and learn about their journeys to finding new homes. Veterinarian, Dr. Menolly Cote, will be available to answer questions and share inspiring stories of animals whose lives have been transformed by the care and support of Midcoast Humane and its dedicated community.
Townsend added, “Together, we can raise a glass to a brighter future for homeless animals, one filled with health, happiness, and hope. Let's toast to a night of joy, knowing that every sip brings us closer to mending their lives and wagging their tails. Cheers to making a difference and sharing the love!"
