Southport Musicfest welcomes Spencer Albee
The second concert in this year’s continuing Southport Musicfest series, welcomes Spencer Albee to the stage of the Newagen Seaside Inn this coming Wednesday, July 17.
Spencer is a Portland-based, nationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer. Since 1995, he has toured internationally, signed multiple recording and publishing deals and worked with artists ranging from David Bowie to De La Soul. Rolling Stone Magazine called Spencer a "21st Century master in the lost art of Beatlesque hooks." Although the show is sold out, a few tickets will be available at the door on the night of the show.
We are excited to welcome Georgia native J. Scott Thompson to open the show and get the audience suitably warmed up. Thompson is an audience favorite endearing himself to crowds nationwide with his warm, easy going personality, powerful voice, and fresh style of Americana songwriting. Pulling from his Southern roots, Thompson combines a southerner’s knack for storytelling with a dose of southern charm making lifelong friends and loyal fans wherever he goes. Get there at 5:30 sharp to catch Thompson and you won’t be sorry you did!
Our final show of the season will be Aug. 14 with The Rupert’s Orchestra. The Rupert’s Orchestra is comprised of some of the finest talent from around the nation. At the core of the group is a driving rhythm section accented by a fiery horn section, and an explosive Latin percussionist. Fronting the band are four of the hottest vocalists around, each with a unique sound, performing both lead and background vocals. If you like to dance, this show is not to be missed!
These three outdoor concerts shine a spotlight on our stunning island, inviting neighbors and friends to make timeless memories, and raising funds for much needed community programs. 100% of ticket sale proceeds to go towards supporting Southport Island Association Community Initiatives. Our fundraising goals continue to be ambitious in order to make profoundly positive impacts within our community for generations to come.
