St. Philip's seeks craftspeople for strawberry festival
St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, will hold its 67th annual Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29. Both inside and outside spaces are available for craftspeople.
For the few inside spaces, the charge is $35, outside space is $25. Crafters are responsible for their own tables and awnings. Electrical outlets are available for both inside and outside spaces. Viewed by many, both locals and visitors, as an area institution not to be missed, the festival is on many people’s summer schedule.
The hot dog stand, Bargain Basement goodies, bake table, noontime pie auction, and other elements people look forward to will be there as always. The star of the event is, of course, the very generous helping of luscious native strawberries dished up on a big, beautiful homemade biscuit and topped off with either locally made ice cream or piles of real whipped cream. Fresh quarts of strawberries will be available to buy. The St. Philip’s pickers will do the picking for you. No kneeling, bending, or juice-stained knees, just line up with cash in hand to scoop the beauties up and take them away for home consumption.
To reserve a space, craftspeople should call 882-7184. Leave your name, address and phone number for crafts coordinator Gretchen Johnson to reach you.
