Summonses issued in Wiscasset accident
A Massachussetts man is charged with several crimes following a June 3 crash that sent a Damariscotta woman to the hospital.
Jean Paul Doiron, 20, of Chelmsford, Mass., was summonsed for leaving the scene of an accident, driving to endanger and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Police say that at about 6:30 a.m. Doiron was driving a Ford F-350 on Federal Street towards Main Street. Cynthia Fales, 59, of Damariscotta, was going west on Main Street.
Doiron allegedly ran a stop sign and hit Fales, causing her vehicle to spin around in its lane. Doiron’s truck continued and struck the Wiscasset Post Office causing damage to the structure. Fales’ vehicle is estimated to be a total loss.
Doiron refused medical treatment and reportedly left the scene without speaking to Officer Gary Caron of the Wiscasset Police Department, the investigating officer. Fales was transported to Miles Memorial Hospital for injuries to her wrist and knee.
