Treasured items for sale at St. Giles Church Fair in Jefferson
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 29 to attend the annual fundraising fair at St. Giles Episcopal Church In Jefferson. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the church grounds under the tall pine trees at 72 Gardiner Road in Jefferson.
It will be a fun day with many activities planned, including for the first year a sale of treasured items, donated by parishioners and others. These include antique lamps, art work, pottery and Christmas decorations.
In addition, the church will have its traditional country cupboard booth, its famous pie sale, and a special children’s activities area hosted by Giles, the church’s very own mouse. All children’s games are free and will include a ring toss, a fishing game, an archaeological “dig” for bones, and a Hobby Horse Derby contest which starts at 11 a.m. Winners of the different jump levels will receive trophies.
There will be two raffles during the fair, one with donations from local merchants and also a separate raffle of a lovely 100 percent cotton queen size quilt made by a generous donor, who hopes it will help the church raise money for its outreach activities.
A local food truck will offer delicious lunches and snacks and parishioners will be offering hot dogs and sausages on the grill. There will be live music throughout the day.
In addition, the church is renting tables to all crafters, organizations, or people who may simply want to sell white elephant items.
Tables are $25 each or two for $45, and it’s first come first served. Call 207-549-7872 to make a reservation or email dking1820@aol.com. Please leave your name and number with any message. After making a reservation, payment can be sent to FAIR, St. Giles, P.O. Box 34, Jefferson ME 04348 or dropped off in a labeled envelope at Country Corners in Coopers Mills.
