Two adventures at Story Time
Story Time this week was inspired by Maine author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen, who is visiting the area this weekend. We first read "Circus Ship," where a ship full of circus animals and their strict owner are headed to Boston for a show but crash and sink due to thick fog.
The animals manage to swim to shore and get comfortable on a Maine island. The residents can’t believe their eyes when they see a monkey in the tree and an alligator on their wood pile. They all become fast friends due to a heroic rescue by the tiger and live happily ever after on the Isle of Maine.
The second book read was "A Camping Spree With Mr. Magee." Mr. Magee and his dog Dee head out for a peaceful camping trip at a beautiful spot overlooking Mt. Jefferson when a hungry bear comes along looking to snack on their marshmallows. The clumsy bear bumps their camper off the hitch and Mr. Magee and Dee end up going for a bumpy ride down the hill landing them right in the water. Luckily, the bear pulls them back to shore, and Mr. Magee decides it would be a quieter camping trip if they stayed in their back yard!
Story Time takes place at the Wiscasset Public Library each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome.
