UPDATE: At 11:17 a.m., Wiscasset reported via TextMyGov, that Route One has reopened.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Shannon Moss said its commercial vehicle unit assisted. Wiscasset Newspaper continues to seek to confirm and receive other information on the accident from local authorities.

Original post: At 8:07 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 31, Wiscasset reported through its TextMyGov service that, due to a motor vehicle accident, Route One “is currently closed southbound at Old Bath Road and northbound at Beechnut Hill Road. It is expected to be closed for most of the morning. Please avoid the area if possible.”
