Veggies to Table flower pop-ups and more
It’s the height of summer here in Maine and the sun has finally arrived. The incessant rain has been a challenge, but nature has prevailed. Veggies to Table is about to harvest their garlic and plant a second rotation carrots, kale, chard, beets, cabbage and lettuce. Most of the flowers are in bloom and the dahlias will be blooming shortly.
Abundant amounts of veggies and flowers have already headed out to pantry, school, and other partners around the community, such as the FARMS at the Y, summer lunch programs and sharing tables, to feed those in need of food and joy. While they never sell our vegetables, Veggies to Table does occasionally sell their flowers.
Here is where you can get a Veggies to Table flower bouquet this summer and help support their mission to work toward ending hunger in Maine.
