Wellness workshops in Wiscasset on August Thursdays
“Making Lasting Wellness Change At Any Age” is the title of four 90-minute workshops open to the public to be held the first four Thursdays in August from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Wiscasset Community Center. The workshops are geared to adults who feel “stuck”in old behaviors and want to learn how to master their life and not be led around by it.
“Yes! Anyone can learn how to deliberately change for the better,” is the focus of the workshops, which will be taught by Tom Rusk, MD. Dr. Rusk, who is 85 years young, is a Board Certified psychiatrist whose career has been devoted to providing, supervising others, and directing hospitals and clinics devoted to front line community mental health treatment around the U.S. He was honored by the American Psychiatric Association as a lifetime “Distinguished Fellow.”
His personal interest for decades has been crisis intervention and exploring how to help people achieve deliberate and lasting positive self-change. He has written four personal change oriented books and has appeared on Oprah twice. He is asking each of you: “Where and how can you find a you who can help you change the old familiar you into a healthier, more satisfied you?”
The workshops will be facilitated by Jane Gower, retired RN wellness consultant. We encourage you to bring your lunch, a co-worker, a friend, or just your open mind and warm heart. You may register for these enlightening workshops by calling or texting Jane Gower at 207-653-7924 or emailing janegow@roadrunner.com. There will be no charge for these workshops but donations to WCC would be greatly appreciated.
