Winter 2014
Windy conditions bring back the chill
Thu, 02/27/2014 - 10:30am
Last week, Midcoast Mainers enjoyed a break from the polar vortex that has seemed almost constant since November of last year. Forty degree temps and light winds gave us a much-needed respite.
Those days are gone for a while.
According the National Weather Service, February 26 and Thursday, Feb. 27, will give us wind gusts of up to 30 mph with snow showers falling throughout both days. At night the temperatures will plunge to 1 F, with wind chill values pushing -11 F on Wednesday, and -3 F on Thursday.
Temperatures are predicted to remain steady in the 20s for the next week, with a 20 to 40 percent chance of snow every day.
